Chinese President Xi Jinping on Aug 21 reached Johannesburg to attend 15th BRICS Summit. Jinping was welcomed by his South African Counterpart President Cyril Ramaphosa. At the invitation of Ramaphosa, Xi Jinping is on a ‘State Visit’ to South Africa. Xi will also co-chair with Ramaphosa the China-Africa Leaders’ Dialogue. The BRICS Summit is scheduled to be held in Johannesburg from August 22 to 24. PM Modi also emplaned for South Africa to attend the 15th BRICS Summit. Prime Minister will land in Johannesburg at around 5:15 PM IST. BRICS is the acronym for an emerging-market group that comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The BRICS countries boast over 40 percent of the world population and about one-fourth of the world economy.
