The Democratic Republic of Congo has severed diplomatic relations with Rwanda, accusing its neighbour of backing rebel forces. The M23 group claims to have captured the eastern city of Goma, which is home to around 1 million people. At least 13 UN peacekeepers were killed in clashes with the rebels.
