French troops began withdrawing from Chad, weeks after the African announced an end to a decades-long military accord with France. Over 120 French soldiers were seen off at the N’djamena airport with Chadian military officials in attendance. With this departure, the influence of Western powers in Chad is waning, a big advantage to Russia’s growing presence in Africa.
